The QMSEC Center

Advancing quantum information science and engineering (QISE) through collaborative research, transformative education, and supportive mentorship.

Welcome to the Quantum Materials, Sensing and Education Center at Bryn Mawr College

The QMSEC Center (Quantum Materials, Sensing and Education Center) at Bryn Mawr College integrates resources from higher education, national laboratories, and industry to advance the frontier of quantum information science and engineering (QISE) through cutting-edge research in quantum materials and quantum sensing, alongside innovative educational initiatives. Researchers and educators from Bryn Mawr College, Johns Hopkins University, Colorado State University, Ursinus College, and the University of Pennsylvania are dedicated to engaging undergraduate and graduate students in pioneering QISE research, leveraging on-campus resources, the NSF-funded PARADIM Center at JHU, and Nano Centers and synchrotron X-ray facilities at Department of Energy labs. Students will also collaborate with leading scientists and experts in national labs and industry, providing a dynamic environment that fosters the next generation of scientists and engineers, preparing them for leadership roles in the rapidly evolving quantum technologies sector.
