Application Requirements

We know that you are more than just what you do in the classroom, so we use a holistic review process to get to know the whole you when reading your application.

Complete and submit your Transfer Common Application.

  • Please submit through the Common Application
  • 250-500 words, single-spaced
  • 2025-2026 Application Cycle Prompt: Bryn Mawr students bring their authentic selves to campus. What do you know about yourself to be true—and what in your background or experience led you to that truth?

These should be submitted to our office through Common App.

Complete and submit your Transfer College Report.

Complete and submit your Transfer Mid-Term Report.

Students typically submit recommendations from professors of core academic subjects (e.g. math, science, language, English, or history).

  • Standardized test results (SAT or ACT)
  • Interview
    • Interviews can be scheduled between June and December of your senior year. We have a limited number of interview slots so we strongly recommend you interview well ahead of the application deadline. Contact admissions@brynmawr.edu to schedule a transfer applicant interview.
  • Arts supplement
    • Arts supplements in music, theater, dance, and creative writing can be submitted through the Common Application Art Supplement (SlideRoom).

Financial Aid Application Requirements

Interested in institutional, need-based financial aid? You are required to submit the following documents at the same time as your admissions application. Note: If you do not apply for financial aid at that time, you cannot apply in subsequent years. Merit aid is determined in the admissions process. Questions? Consult our financial aid application instructions.

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using Bryn Mawr College code #003237.
  • You and a parent must have an FSA ID to sign the online FAFSA form.
  • We strongly encourage providing consent for the Department of Education to receive an individual's federal tax information (FTI) directly from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). If you do not provide consent, your student will be ineligible for federal aid.
  • Report social security numbers and full legal names as they appear on your social security card. Without them, the Department of Education will not be able to process your financial aid application.
  • Submit your CSS Profile using Bryn Mawr College code #2049. The College Board grants fee waivers for eligible students based on income information upon completion of the application.
  • If your parents are divorced, separated, or never married, both parent households must submit a Profile.
  • Report your full legal names as they appear on your social security card. Provide your social security number to ensure accurate processing of your financial aid results.
  • After reviewing your Profile data, your financial aid counselor may contact you directly and request that you send more information in order to provide you with the most accurate award possible.
  • Full federal income tax returns are required to apply for institutional financial aid.
  • When you complete the CSS Profile, the College Board will prompt you to submit 2023 year federal tax returns or non-tax filer statements to Bryn Mawr College using the Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC). This service is provided at no cost to you or your parents.
  • You should submit signed copies of all federal income tax returns (no state returns), both business and personal, including all W-2 forms, statements, attachments, and schedules for both parents and stepparents (if applicable). All documents should be uploaded through IDOC.
