Young Alumna Award

The Young Alumna/us Service Award recognizes alumnae/i of classes graduated within the past 15 years and whose volunteer efforts, leadership, initiative, and dedication serve as an example of a new generation’s commitment to Bryn Mawr. Griffin has approached her volunteer work with enthusiasm and a willingness to take on new challenges in service of the College. As a student, she held numerous leadership roles, including Athletic Association vice president, Centennial Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee vice president, and two-year captain of the lacrosse team. Following her graduation, she continued to contribute to the Bryn Mawr community, first as a college employee and then as a Reunion Class Gift Committee member. In 2019, she launched the Charlotte, N.C., Club and currently serves as its president.

Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award is given to alumnae/i whose exemplary leadership and ongoing commitment has served to shape programming and to guide the community at its highest levels. Subramanian served as president of the Alumnae Association from 2015–2021 and president of the Bryn Mawr Club of Los Angeles from 2001–2007. She is a current member of the Board of Trustees as well as a member of the History Working Group. Her continued leadership and commitment to Bryn Mawr inspire fellow alumnae/i to reach new heights of service and engagement with the College. Her current focus is an oral history project featuring alumnae/i stories.

Lifetime of Service Award

The Lifetime of Service Award is given to alumnae/i whose lifetime commitment to volunteerism in all sectors of the Alumnae Association and College community has consistently and effectively brought alumnae/i together in support of Bryn Mawr. Goodfriend has dedicated over 60 years to Bryn Mawr as a loyal volunteer and consummate alumna. She currently serves as the co-president of the Class of 1963. She was also an alumnae/i-nominated member of the Board of Trustees. Goodfriend was a founding member and inaugural chair of the GSSWSR Board of Advisors and led the effort to create the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute. As the retired founder and board chair of The Bryn Mawr Film Institute, she worked tirelessly to create a close community partnership with the College.
