Lecture: Immigration in the Trump Era — Turning Adversity into Opportunity
Tuesday, Feb. 20, 4:30-5:30PM, Carpenter Library B21
In her talk, Eileen Truax, a Los Angeles-based freelance journalist, will discuss how despite the adverse political scenario, there could be some opportunities to advocate for an immigration overhaul.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Eileen published in some of the main Mexican newspapers such as El Universal, Reforma, Proceso, and Gatoparto. In the U.S., she worked seven years for La Opinion, the largest Spanish-language daily in the US, covering issues on immigration, politics, and US-Mexico relations. She has also published in Americas Quarterly, and the Spanish editions of The New York Times, Newsweek, and Vice en Espanol, among others.
