Sunday, Dec 10, 10AM-12:30PM, Fairmount Park parking lot, 4900 Ridge Ave
Go take a hike! Philadelphia's Park System is one of the largest urban park system's in the world. Fairmount Park Conservancy offers several opportunities to get into the woods and discover some of the hidden gems of our park system. Enjoy a unique and all-levels paced hike through the park with one of their trusted guides. Most of these hikes are moderately challenging and participants are asked to please bring their own water and wear comfortable, sturdy shoes.
The lowest reach of the Wissahickon is lined with magic as it heads into the Schuylkill. This hike sews together geography, industrial history, mystic monks, Norman Rockwell, and a park that doesn't exist yet with the same thread. Total length is around 4.5 miles and 2.5 hours; there are some challenging hills, so wear sturdy shoes and come ready to hit the trail. The tour will meet at 10am at the Fairmount Park parking lot at 4900 Ridge Avenue.
Event is FREE for Fairmount Park Conservancy members and $10 for non-members. For more information or to buy tickets, please visit this link.
