Bi-Co News Explores Digital and Physical Sides of Reactor Room Exhibition

In mid-November, students in José Vergara's fall 2023 course, RUSSB220 Chornobyl recently became the latest contributors to The Reactor Room: An Immersive Chornobyl Exhibition, a digital scholarship site exploring the history, aftermath and cultural representation of the 1986 nuclear disaster at a power plant in northern Ukraine. Their contributions coincided with the opening of a physical Reactor Room installation on the 3rd floor atrium of Park Science, which will run through early spring. In this Bi-Co News article, Charlee Thacker speaks with Professor Vergara and others involved in the creation of the digital and physical exhibitions about the inspiration for the project and the work involved in getting it ready to launch.
