Bryn Mawr's Commencement ceremonies for 2023 featured keynote addresses by Marie A. Bernard '72, who addressed the undergraduate class on Saturday, May 13, and Anne Thompson Ph.D. '78 who gave the commencement speech to the graduate degree recipients on Friday, May 12.

While the majority of academic awards for the Class of 2023 were presented at a ceremony earlier in the week, a number of student, faculty, and staff honors were presented at the ceremonies.
Undergraduate Awards:
The Gertrude Slaughter Fellowship, which is awarded for excellence in scholarship, was awarded to Ellie Hughes, who graduated summa cum laude in physics with minors in mathematics and astronomy (HC). Hughes will be going on to a physics Ph.D. program at MIT.
The European Traveling Fellowship has been awarded by the College each year since its first entering class graduated in 1889. It was presented to Anna-William Kornberg, of Houston, Texas, who graduated summa cum laude in anthropology with minors in chemistry and dance.

In addition to the awards and honors listed above, Board of Trustees Chair Cynthia Archer '75 brought the crowd to its feet in honor of President Kim Cassidy, who recently announced her plans to step down as president in 2024 after what will be 11 years of leading the College.
