What's happening at your internship? We would love to hear what kind of work you are doing!
I mainly work on user testing for the new Moodle 4.0 updates and also make Bionic videos for incoming students, returning students, and faculty.
Why did you apply for this internship?
I am a STEM major student, so I'd like to have an opportunity to actually apply my technology-related knowledge to real life and contribute to the community by doing so.
Was there anything special about how you found this internship?
I found it through Handshake and the career fair held by Bryn Mawr College.
What has been your favorite part of this internship?
Working with my colleagues as a team, including making structured plans and brainstorming together productively.
Can you talk about the skills you are learning and why they are important to you?
I'm learning how to conduct user testing for website updates to collect data on which parts of the website should be improved. This is a new perspective for me in terms of using and understanding a website because I have never had the experience of working with a website from a website manager's perspective. From this internship, I can gain more experience with updating and improving websites, which would benefit my potential career path in the future as a STEM major student.
What has been the biggest challenge you have faced at your internship?
Communicating with different people and departments that I work with. I've been starting to realize that communication is an important part of work, which is a main factor in our work efficiency level.
Can you give us three adjectives and three nouns that describe your internship experience?
Rewarding, technological, communicative
Collaboration, planning, communication
What is most rewarding about your internship?
Learning the skill of collaboration — how to work efficiently in a group.
