Six students from the Tri-Co (Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges) were joined by two students from Lafayette College and two students from Gettysburg College for a week-long workshop on "Careers in Library and Information Technology."
The workshop, which was held May 20 to May 24, was a collaboration between the colleges' libraries with the goals of introducing students to the field of library and information science and to promote the American Library Association’s fundamental values of equity, diversity and inclusion. The week included trips to the Free Library of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania's Van Pelt Library, and daily discussions on topics including information literacy and social justice, scholarly communication, information ethics, digital scholarship, and more.
The Bryn Mawr students taking part in the workshop were Wynter Douglas '19 and Emma Regan '20. For a list of all the student participants and more information, visit the workshop website.
