Carpenter Library collections support programs in History of Art; Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology; Greek, Latin, Classical Studies; and Growth and Structure of Cities. Carpenter also houses five classrooms and the Digital Media and Collaboration Lab.

Library Highlights

Study Carrels
Carpenter Library has 101 carrels for use by graduate students and undergraduate seniors majoring in classics, cities, archaeology, and history of art. Due to the limited number of carrels, undergraduates are required to share carrels.

Digital Media & Collaboration Lab
The Digital Media and Collaboration Lab (DMCL) is ocated on the main (A) level of Carpenter and accessible whenever the library is open.

Makerspace
Bryn Mawr's Makerspace hosts a Critical Making program and provides equipment, workshops, and support for digital fabrication, crafting, and design.

Library Classrooms
Carpenter Library boasts five classrooms featuring spaces for teaching and collaborative technology.

The Atrium
A central four-story high atrium hosting both passive activities such as reading as well as organized events. Bryn Mawr's distinguished scholars in Archaeology, Classics, and History of Art are recognized on the atrium wall of Carpenter Library.
