Jean Sachs, M.S.S./M.L.S.P. '91, and CEO of Living Beyond Breast Cancer answered questions in a National Association of Social Workers (NASW) "Essential Chats with Mit," a series hosted by NASW president Mit Joyner. The virtual event, "From Personal to Professional: Knowledge and Awareness of Breast Cancer," was presented on Facebook Live on Friday, Oct. 22. The conversation included Section Chief of Breast Surgical Oncology at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Dr. Vivian Jolley Bea and oncology social worker Rosie Nagy and was presented in an effort to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month and those who have been affected. The talk includes discussions of procuring second opinions and surgical and support options and is available to view via Facebook Live.

The GSSWSR prepares students to become effective social work practitioners, advocates for social and economic justice, and leaders in the social work profession.
