The Program in Film Studies and the Center for Visual Culture present Jennifer Amell "The importance of 'Twin Peaks' in the creative process of 'Dark Valley'."

Jennifer Amell is a writer and producer of multimedia narratives and documentaries. Her investigative podcast, Dark Valley (Crawlspace Media)—for which she is credited as writer, producer, editor, and host—premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Festival and peaked at #7 on the US Apple podcast charts.

Dark Valley has been described as elevated true crime that meditates on victimhood, grief, and memory. In 2018, Jennifer produced and directed a feature documentary (Gray Rocks) about a mysterious fire at a historic hotel in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Her short stories and articles have appeared in the Montreal Literature Colloquium, Literary Manhattan, The New Guard, and UPitt's Hot Metal Bridge
