Junior Experience
Welcome, Juniors!
Junior Year at Bryn Mawr College is all about deepening your academic engagement, making the most of your experiences, and preparing for life beyond college. You’ll refine your academic and career goals, pursue advanced coursework in your major, and explore opportunities like internships, research, service & volunteering, and leadership roles.
Throughout the year, you’ll continue to build on your accomplishments, strengthen your professional network, and plan for your next steps whether that’s launching your career, applying to graduate school, pursuing a gap year, engaging in civic service, or exploring military service. If you’re studying abroad, you’ll be encouraged to make the most of your international experience by connecting it to your academic and career goals.
I'm here to help.
Dean Roberson-Hornsby, the Junior Class Dean, provides academic advising to support you through this pivotal year. Juniors are encouraged to meet with me to discuss academic progress, clarify questions about major requirements, and strategize about career preparation. You’ll be encouraged to collaborate with the Career & Civic Engagement Center to explore career options, develop your resume and Handshake profile, and prepare for internships, job opportunities, and graduate school.
All Juniors receive a monthly newsletter from Dean Roberson-Hornsby with timely information about academic advising, career and civic engagement opportunities, and events to support your journey.
What to Expect
The Junior Experience helps students connect their academic, career, and personal goals while setting a course for completion and success.

College-wide Requirements
Juniors should ensure they are on track to complete their major/minor, college-wide, and all graduation requirements. Prior to course registration in the Fall semester, students should review their Academic Requirements in BiONiC.

Major and Minor Progress
By your junior year, you have already declared your major—but your academic journey is still evolving. Now is the time to deepen your engagement with your major and/or minor department, refine your academic interests, and ensure you’re on track for graduation.
