Part 1: Go outside and record your own sounds. Part 2: Organize your new sounds into an electronic instrument. Part 3: Create an original music composition in Ableton Live.

No experience necessary. We show you how music is for everyone.

Composer Brian Wenner (brianwenner.com) and Visual Studies professor Matt O'Hare will guide participants through the process of recording sounds in the field, and then utilizing them in the music-making software Ableton Live to create an original composition inspired by traditions of musique concrète.

Computers available or bring your own. Please bring: walking shoes, warm clothing, recording device (phone okay!).
