Recycling
The following items are currently accepted into the recycling program:
SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING (Brochure)
PLEASE BE GREEN: REMEMBER ALL CONTAINERS SHOULD BE EMPTY AND CLEAN
- Aluminum Cans
- Steel/Tin food and beverage cans
- Clear, green and brown glass bottles and jars
- Plastics marked with "1" through "7"
- White and colored office and notebook paper
- Computer and copy paper
- Carbonless forms
- Junk mail
- Cardboard boxes
- Paper Egg Cartons
- All paper containing groundwood including newspaper, magazines, catalogs, paperback and telephone books
The following items are currently NOT accepted into the recycling stream:
- Aluminum foil
- Aluminum pie plates
- Hangers
- Ceramic dishes and mugs
- Light Bulb
- Plate glass
- Plastic bags
- Plastic wrap
- Styrofoam
- No polystyrene cups or plates
- Motor oil containers
- Hazardous chemical containers
- Plastic toys or sporting goods
- Electronics or batteries
- Plastics NOT numbered 1 through 7
- Compact discs or DVD's
- Foam egg cartons
- Ice cream cartons
- Cafeteria/food waste
- Tissues/Paper towels
- Ream wrappers from copy paper
- Yard waste or garden tools.
If you are interested in recycling scrap metal, please contact Facilities Services Department at x7930. Rechargeable batteries or aerosol cans can be recycled through the Environmental Health & Safety Office at x5166.
