Biography

Allison Mills is the College Archivist, working as part of the Special Collections team. Allison is Ililiw (Cree) and has published and presented papers examining the ways in which Indigenous peoples interact with and are represented in colonial archives. Her paper Learning to Listen: Archival Sound Recordings and Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property received the Association of Canadian Archivists' 2016 Gordon Dodds Prize. Prior to arriving at Bryn Mawr, she worked for UBC's Residential School History and Dialogue Centre as part of both their research and metadata teams.
