De Laguna Summer Funding
The Department of Anthropology has a fund named in honor of Dr. Frederica de Laguna, the Founder of the Department. This fund can be used to provide very limited support for student summer research and training in Anthropology. For the most part, we have funded rising juniors and sophomores, but current seniors are welcome to apply.
If you are interested in receiving some support from the Frederica de Laguna Fund for summer research and training, look out for an email request for proposals during spring semester with a due date in April. Proposals should include the following:
- a clear description of your project/field school
- a brief description of how your experience fits into your overall undergraduate plan of study and future plans
- a complete, itemized budget with total cost, as well as the portion you are asking from the de Laguna fund
- an up-to-date resume
- transcript
Funding decisions will be announced by the middle of April. If you have any questions, please contact the department chair.
