Take a Break with Tapestry

Take a break from your routine and learn from and do something new with fellow BIPOC Bryn Mawr alumnae/i. Examples of programs to include: How to become an outdoor explorer, mindfulness and meditation, tools to simplify, culinary explorations, etc.

Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6:00 p.m. EDT
Join Sheila Walker '66, a cultural anthropologist and documentary filmmaker, and explore a myriad of Afrodiasporic cultural manifestations through several decades of her profession and personal exploration. As part of the break, please view in advance Sheila's documentary (30 minutes), Familiar Faces/Unexpected Places: A Global African Diaspora which was screened at the United Nations (2018). During the Take a Break event, the group will discuss, reflect, and celebrate the rich cultural ties that connect the African Diaspora together.

Productivity is not about doing more. Join certified executive and leadership coach, Akua Nyame-Mensah, to discuss the relationship between productivity, resilience, and mindfulness. 

Thursday, Jan. 28 with Bhakthi Sahgal '13
Pause the doom-scrolling and tap into your creative side. During this break Bhakthi Sahgal '13 will discuss how she made her entry into the world of Podcasting with her show Too Much to Text on Full Service Radio in Washington, D.C.

Join Allegra Massaro '15, co-founder of Fuel the People, as she shares how food is a powerful tool that has always been central to resistance, and is also a love language and form of compassion.
