Mathematics, 7-12

Students on the mathematics teacher certification track must major in mathematics at Bryn Mawr or Haverford Colleges. Students must include in their major course plan:

1. A course on probability and/or statistics (e.g., MATH B205, MATH H203, or MATH H218)
2. A course on discrete mathematics, such as MATH B206 (Transition to Higher Math) or COMSC B231 or MATH H231 (Discrete Mathematics)
3. A course on the history of mathematics, such as MATH B295 (Select Topics in Mathematics: History of Mathematics)
4. A course on number theory, such as MATH B290 or MATH B390 (Elementary Number Theory)

We also recommend EDUC B220 (Changing Pedagogies in Mathematics and Science).
