Faculty Awards & Grants

The Class of 1932's Alice Lee Hardenbergh Clark Faculty Research Grants Fund
This fund was established "to assist members of the faculty of the History and Social Sciences Departments with research outside the continental United States."

The Madge Miller Research Fund
This fund provides small grants-in-aid to assist faculty members in the technical preparation of non-commercial publications: typing, microfilming, photographic illustrations, drafting, transcription of tapes, etc.

BMC Faculty Research Fund
This fund was established in the Fall of 1983, on the recommendation of the Deans of the three schools, for the general support of faculty research. The fund is based on the indirect cost recoveries from sponsored research grants.

Faculty Research Pool
These funds are intended to support modest research needs of continuing members of the Faculty. Requests for support may be made for minor expenses associated with the faculty member's research.

Faculty Travel Pool
The Faculty Travel Pool is a Bryn Mawr College program that supports the scholarly development of faculty members on continuing appointment in tenure track, tenured, and Continuing Non-Tenure Track (CNTT) positions and on continuing appointment in the Athletics and Physical Education department.

Endowed Lecture Chair & Speaker Series
As part of the honor of receiving an endowed chair, faculty are invited to give a lecture to share their research with the Bryn Mawr College community. This lecture series is one of the ways that we uplift the tremendous scholarly achievements of our faculty.
Teaching Funds

Digital Bryn Mawr Grants
These LITS grants support digital teaching, learning, or research activities broadly construed. Digital Bryn Mawr Project Grants may be used to support professional development opportunities; curricular development; symposia or other events; and other teaching, learning, or research-focused projects, including digital scholarship projects.

Philadelphia Engagement Grants
Grants are designed to enrich the curricular content of an on-campus class by facilitating student experiences in the city of Philadelphia. Grants range from $500-$1,500. Grants are awarded twice during the academic year, prior to the fall semester and prior to the spring semester. The grant application goes via email to the faculty and is linked (below) on our website.

360° Course Cluster Stipend
The Provost’s Office provides a $3,000 course planning stipend for each faculty member the summer prior to their 360° cluster. The Teaching and Learning Initiative student consultants are available to work with faculty members during the planning, teaching, and/or assessment phases of a 360° cluster.

Digital Scholarship Faculty Fellowship
The Digital Scholarship Faculty Fellow will receive a stipend of $2,500 as well as support for a proposed program, initiative, or digital scholarship project as needed (funded by a Digital Bryn Mawr Project grant or otherwise subject to approval by LITS).
Community Building Funds

President's Office Funding
Funding from the President’s Office is most frequently provided for on-campus events, projects, and initiatives which benefit the larger community.

Change Agent Fund
In recognition of the value of contributions to institutional change made by members of the Bryn Mawr community, the College has created the Change Agent Fund, committing a budget of $10,000 annually to address experiences of marginalization, inequity and vulnerability—especially around race, ability, income and citizenship status.

Racial Justice Impact Fund
Supporting projects designed by Bryn Mawr College community members who engage with organizations and/or communities to support and engage in restorative and transformational justice work.

Faculty & Student Entertainment Fund
The Student Success office has funds to support faculty connections with students in small informal group interactions outside the classroom. This program intends to enhance the students’ learning experience and their sense of connection to their faculty and the College more broadly.
